Fernando Gallegos’s work is a constant exploration of photography’s language in relation to it’s day to day practice. His photographs usually show fragments of complex scenes turned into landscapes, details or portraits that as a whole propose the possibility of a new fictional landscape. With extensive experience as a photowork editor, his interest is in the development of a language that has been difficult to understand as an art historically as it’s usually the result of a combination of codes; the photographic, the photowork and the aesthetic response to its presentation. His recent work shows an interest in digital formats as support for new photographic narratives.
